Simon is a mining executive with 33 years of experience internationally in PNG, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Kyrgystan, Indonesia and Australia. Simon is experienced at all stages of the mine development cycle from studies, permitting, capital raising, project development, operations and closure including managing international joint ventures.
Prior to joining Atlantic Tin, Simon was the CEO at Merdeka Copper Gold, a publicly listed Indonesian mining company which had rapidly grown to an US$8b market capitalisation through the acquisition and development of gold, copper and nickel mines.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering and has completed the AICD Company Directors Course.
Mike is a qualified Chartered Accountant with 30 years of commercial and operational experience in the mining industry. Mike was most recently CFO at LSE and ASX listed Adriatic Metals PLC, where he successfully brought to completion construction of the Vares high grade silver mine. Prior to that he was CFO of ASX listed Highfield Resources, based in Spain, and Finance Director of LSE listed gold producer Avocet Mining PLC, where he oversaw the construction and commissioning of the Inata mine.
He has also held the positions of Head of Business Performance at Anglo American, and worked for Rio Tinto in the USA as CFO and Plant Manager at Kennecott Ridgeway Gold Mine and CFO of Kennecott Greens Creek Mine.
Andy is a highly experienced Project Execution Manager having constructed and operated numerous African projects over the last 35 years. He has gained valuable knowledge executing remote projects on both Greenfield’s and highly complex Brownfields projects in difficult environments and in countries such as Sudan, DRC, Mali, Mozambique, Botswana, Ghana and Sierra Leone in West Africa. Prior to Joining Atlantic Tin, Andy was the General Manager-Major Projects having successfully completed the execution and commissioning of a large $320m sulphuric acid production plant and large complex tailings storage facilities for KCC, a Glencore JV in the DRC.
His project leadership and experience gained in numerous projects covering commodities, from producing high grade silicon metal in open arc furnaces, copper-nickel, gold, mineral sands (titanium oxides or rutile), uranium and copper brings valuable support and skills to the Atlantic Management team.
As a graduate mechanical engineer from the University of Technology and the University of Pretoria, South Africa, Andy's significant experience in developing studies, feasibility, permitting and executing projects through to sustainable operations, provides key leadership to transition the Achmmach Project to execution.
Mohamed is a highly experienced in permitting. Prior to joining Kasbah he was in a senior management and operational roles in companies, both public and private over 16 years in Morocco. Mr Maataoui has brought extensive technical and strategic leadership skills and experience to the Kasbah Management team, guiding Atlas Tin SAS through the completion of all permitting and getting the Environmental Acceptability of Achmmach Project. In addition Mohamed has responsibility for successfully completed the cession of Bou El Jaj tenements to be 100% Kasbah now.
Mohamed has significant experience in permitting approvals and Joint venture negotiations. He has leading teams during exploration phase and has a demonstrable ability to communicate effectively with the administrations and locals bringing key to all technical and operational management of Kasbah team for the development of the Achmmach project.
Mohamed holds a Bachelor in Human Sciences and completed post-graduate studies in law, management.
Mustapha obtained a PhD. in Structural Geology and Mineral Exploration with his thesis in Bou El Jaj tin deposit in 2019. He has a Masters degree in Applied Geology and Geophysics Engineering, which he obtained in 2013. Mustapha also has a Bachelor degree in Geology which he obtained in 1999 from Meknes University. After five years working as geologist with Metalex Ventures, exploring Diamonds in the Archean massif in the southern province of Morocco. He was the geologist responsible with SANU Resources, exploring Gold and cooper in Proterozoic terrain in the Anti-Atlas and base metal in Rif.
Mustapha joined Atlantic Tin in 2007 and has more than 16 years of experience in mineral exploration in tin mineral in Morocco and Rwanda.
Driss has over 30 years of experience in public and private institutions in Morocco and has held various leadership roles overseeing finance, strategy, human resources, regulatory affairs, client relations and governance.
He was previously COO at Providence Verte and Secretary General at National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency in Rabat, Morocco.
